week 16: Science animation



This week we continued to work on our science animations, I am making an animation showing that distance of which a supernova travels. Then proceed to show the nearest star to earth that has a possibility of super nova and show how it will not reach the earth.

Week 14: Robot Arm

This week I learned about link constraints and pivot point adjustments. I adjusted the pivot points of the robot arm and used the parent and child setting so i can animate the robot arm. I learned how to use link constraints so i could have the robot arm have an object attach to it in a certain frame so it looks as if the arm is picking up the object.

Week 13: renderd animation of rigged character

This week I animated my rigged character doing a front flip. I used the foot steps then animated the character in between the path for the footsteps. I didn't want to just render a scene with a mo-cab applied to the character. So this my attempt to animate a front flip on my rigged character.

Week 12: rigging a new character

This week I modeled and rigged a character. This is my second character that I have rigged, I did a much better job rigging this character. The character look really good when I gave it motion capture compared to my previous rigged character.

week 11: Rigging


This week rigging a basic 3d character was the main goal. The rigging was a bit of a challenge but I think it turned out relatively good for a first time. I am now working towards a new model with more detail to fully rig up. I plan to put my best effort into this detailed model so it will look nice when it is fully rigged.

Week 10: Flash



This week we started looking into Maya and Flash. Maya is a lot like 3ds Max, there are things that I yet to identify as different from the two programs. The program that I was most interested this week was Flash, I have always enjoyed stop motion animation and Flash seems like it has a lot of tools i have yet to discover. Hopefully I will be able to use the program future.

Week 9: Kuder

The Kuder assessments suggested many jobs for me. The two job that stood out to me were Film and Video Editor and Camera operator. these both seem like very likely jobs for my future. I have always been interested in being a camera man since I young. But in the video editing class I took a year ago has really opened me up to the field of video editing.

Week 7: Presentation

This week I finished and presented my project. I felt the project went well and was good. There were some things I wish i would have done more with, but time constraints made that not possible.

This week I class continued working on the logo but started with the program Adobe Premiere. Adobe Premiere is a video-editing program. The program will be used to edit together rendered out scenes to make an animation. This will help put the final touches to my final logo project.

Week 5: First Project


This week the class started a new project. The main idea of the project is to make a movie logo animation. To execute this project we were introduced to cameras. The camera can be used to make throughout a seen and get a movie like feel. I can see this tool to be very useful for the movie logo project and the weeks to come.

Week 4: Materials, Paths And More Modeling


This week the class explored many more things with 3ds MAX. We started with
Path control, I made an animated football go along a path. Also this week we took a small look at the material editor. The material editor seem like a very advanced program on the inside of 3ds MAX. The week finished off with learning more modeling skills, I found these to be very useful for what is to come in modeling.

Week 3: Learning more

This week the class went a bit deeper in learning 3ds max. This week I learned how to boolean, this seems like a tool that could be used to do very complex things. Also this week we started useing the edit poly modifier. I used the edit poly modifier to make a very simple airplane, I am exited to explore the world of modeling.

Week 2: Learning new stuff

This week I Started going into 3ds max. I animated a snowman getting decapitated and his head melting. I also learned how to use splines and make 3d text.This has gotten me excited for what is coming in the future and seeing what 3ds max is truly capable of.

Week One: The Beginning

The beginning of this class so far has been a good experience. The class started off with the message the revaluation will not be televised, this message has made me think differently about this class. 3dsmax seems like an interesting program to start with. I am exited to start working with programs like Maya ,Photoshop and After Effects.
